The new release of the PCI DSS standard provides clarifications, guidance, and a few evolving requirements, but the largest impact may be from the inclusion of virtualization and the upcoming Virtualization Information Supplement. The supplement will include detailed recommendations – perhaps requirements – and auditable controls for virtualized systems that are sure to impact your IT security and compliance plans for 2011 and beyond.

Trend Micro Antivirus Performance Testing in a VMWare Environment
This test compared the performance of VMware virtual machines and VMware ESX hosts running Symantec 11.04, to identical ESX hosts and virtual machines running Trend Micro Deep Security 7.5. The test noticeably demonstrates that an agent-less solution such as Trend Micro Deep Security 7.5 has clear advantages over solutions with agent installed software.
